As part of the new Heritage Walk Zone in Lucknow, more developments are being carried out in order to promote tourism. District officials are embarking on numerous changes and advancements, especially in Old Lucknow.

The historical walk zone will incorporate preservation and revamping of monuments like Chota & Bada Imambara, Chhatar Manzil, and Residency, with bustling areas like Qaiserbagh, Aminabad and Hussainabad.

How exactly are they modernising it, you ask? Well, herein, fresh vending zones, food courts, parking facilities, bus stops, tonga and baggi stands will be set up, amongst other changes.

Food, greenery & modernisation

More greenery around these areas is also expected to adorn the Heritage Walk Zone further. And, of course, the good news for all foodies — the new food courts will serve delicious Awadhi and Mughlai cuisines, keeping the name of Old Lucknow high.

"There will be food courts with special focus on Mughlai and Awadhi cuisines, and different shops on both sides of roads near the monuments. People can also enjoy tonga rides during their visit. The programme will help tourists have a glimpse of the rich history and heritage of the city."
An official spokesman stated

Amidst the remaining changes, cleanliness drives and encroachment removals have been proposed. To facilitate conveyance, tongas and baggis will also be provided.

So, Lucknowites, this upcoming heritage walk is all set to be a 5-km boulevard of rich culture, history and heritage and we couldn't feel prouder to be a part of this grand development!
