Amid Covid-19, IIT Kanpur conducts placement drive online for the first time

The first phase of the drive is expected to be completed by December 9.

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur for the first time held the placement drive online due to the pandemic. Around 1000 students from both under graduate and post graduate courses registered for the placement drive. The first phase of the drive is expected to be completed by December 9.

High salary package offered by domestic companies

This year, around 200 companies registered for the placement drive for hiring students, compared to 300 companies last year. According to a placement cell staff, students have been offered a higher salary package in comparison with 2019. Salary packages offered by domestic companies reached as high as 82 lakhs per annum compared to 60 lakhs per annum last year.

IIT-K managed to place 460 students

The institute managed to place 460 students by the end of day 3 on Thursday. Last year, around 520 students were placed during the same period. IIT-K conducted the entire placement dive online for the first time due to the pandemic.
