Improved parking solutions on the horizon: LDA plans to create 4 multilevel spaces in Lucknow

Jatin Shewaramani

With the aim of offering a viable solution to address the issue of parking in public spaces, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has submitted a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government. The proposal entails the development of 4 new parking spaces which will be developed in various areas of Lucknow.

Among the 4 proposed spaces, the authority intends to construct a multilevel parking facility near the Ekana Stadium. This is because people often encounter difficulties in locating parking areas during cricket matches, leading to the entire surrounding area, including the Shaheed Path, becoming congested with traffic jams.

Parking spaces also to be constructed in other market areas

Along with this, the authority also plans to create multilevel/underground parking spaces in 3 additional areas of Lucknow. These areas include Kapoorthala in Aliganj, Janana Park in Aminabad and the Patrakarpuram area in Gomti Nagar.

Regarding the development plans for parking spaces, Dr. Indramani Tripathi, Vice President, LDA, stated, "The proposal for the four parking lots in the city is nearing its final stages. Once the government grants approval, the implementation of the project will commence."
