The changes, including establishing different lanes to facilitate chaos-free movement of vehicles, will be implemented soon.

Similar to the mechanism at Amausi Airport in Lucknow, the Integrated Parking System at Charbagh Railway Station is now imbibing a bunch of changes in order to ensure hassle-free parking and rather streamlined movement.

The changes include establishing different lanes to facilitate chaos-free movement of vehicles, erecting electronic barriers for an organised fee system, setting up a pick and drop zone, and enhancing the security system. The preparations to have the aforementioned in place are in full swing and the system is slated to fully operate by January 15, as per officials.

Towards a traffic-free Charbagh Railway Station

Private vehicles coming to drop/receive passengers at the station can arrive at and leave from the station cost-free for the first 10 minutes. A separate 'pick and drop zone' for this purpose is going to be erected at the station premises.

The lanes will be divided into three rows, one for private, another for commercial, and the third for VIP vehicles. At a time, the railway station could accommodate up to 2,500 vehicles.

With this, employees will be deployed at the premises to oversee and ensure that movement is streamlined. P.S. The vehicles in non-parking areas will be removed with the help of cranes so you're advised to tread carefully and park in the apt spaces in order to have a smooth experience.

Know about the parking fees & security system

An electronic barrier will soon be installed at the entrance and the exit points of the station, where anyone entering the station will receive an electronic slip. Fundamentally, you receive the slip, find a parking space (any) and you're good for the next 10 minutes. After this, a nominal parking fee of ₹20 will be charged from four wheelers and ₹10 from two wheelers, for two hours. The price will go up according to the time taken, for instance, ₹30 for 2-6 hours, ₹40 for 6-12 hours and ₹60 for 12-24 hours.

Besides this, the security system at the railway station will receive a boost. 40 CCTV cameras to monitor everything and 13 boom barriers will be installed in the premises.
