Ever got stuck in a mostly unnecessary jam in front of the railway station for longer than you would consider tolerable? You're there to just drop your relative at the Choti line and leave but are now held up with close-to-negligible fault of your own. Vexing, no?
Well, we have news which will ensure that your future visits to the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow are streamlined and you come out within 10 minutes in a smooth pick/drop scenario!
A brand new integrated parking system is in the plans, a system that is brings free parking for 10 minutes, streamlined entry and exit, in addition to high tech, secure gates.
Similar to the mechanism at Amausi Airport in Lucknow, the integrated parking system at Charbagh will allow hassle free parking. Vehicles coming to drop/receive passengers at the station can arrive at and leave from the station cost-free.
An electronic barrier is slated to be installed at the entrance of the station, where anyone entering the station will receive an electronic slip. Fundamentally, you receive the slip, find a parking space (any) and you're good for the next 10 minutes. After this, a nominal parking fee of ₹20 will be charged from four wheelers and ₹10 from two wheelers.
The rail authorities have also decided to streamline the front area of the railway station. Vehicles that have to head towards Hazratganj will leave from the side of the Charbagh Rail Reservation Center (the entrance, essentially). Whereas, the vehicles moving towards the Kanpur Road will take the route of the Lucknow Junction.
With the help of the proposed plan, the traffic tie-ups outside Charbagh Railway Station should, supposedly, alleviate.
