Irani Cup 2024-25 ready to take center stage at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium this October

The much-anticipated Irani Cup 2024-25, originally planned for Mumbai, will now be hosted in Lucknow at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium. This decision was taken due to the extended monsoon in Mumbai, which could have affected this one-off 5-day game. Starting October 1, the Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai team will face-off against the Rest of India side in Lucknow.

Gear up for an intense 'Winner vs All' encounter

The Irani Cup game is played every year between the winners of Ranji Trophy and a combined XI from the other teams who played that year in the tournament. The 'Rest Of India' side for the game is selected by national selectors. Notably, Mumbai won their 42nd Ranji title this year, defeating a resilient Vidarbha in the final by 169 runs.

Now, the Mumbai side, featuring players like skipper Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, and Shardul Thakur will look to exert further dominance in India's domestic circuit in this upcoming cricket match in Lucknow.
