From school holidays being extended in Lucknow to artificial intelligence coming in to pick the best marching contingent at the Army Day Parade, read to know more about the latest trending Lucknow news highlights.

Lucknow is all set to host the grand parade for the 76th Army Day, which has been moved out of Delhi for the second consecutive year. This time around, the best marching contingent for this year's parade will be chosen by Artificial Intelligence, following a marks-based system.

Although Lucknow has woken up to clear skies and a sunny day, the weather forecast has predicted layers of fog and the cold wave to continue today, i.e., January 15. Furthermore, a red alert has been issued for several parts of UP as the minimum temperature dips.

Amid thick layers of fog, a total of two flights were cancelled at Lucknow Airport while seven flights were delayed on Sunday. With the weather forecast predicting the fog to persist, all flyers are being advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.

Due to the cold weather and the continuously dipping mercury, the Uttar Pradesh government has extended the school holidays for two more days in Lucknow, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Ghaziabad. On the other hand, school holidays in Meerut have been extended till January 20.

Following a prolonged illness, renowned Urdu poet Munawwar Rana breathed his last at Lucknow's SGPGI on Sunday. It is noteworthy that Rana was the recipient of multiple awards in literature, including the Gyanpeeth Award in 2014.
