India's premier Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has rolled out three new projects revolving around waste-to-wealth, artificial intelligence, and machine learning-based technologies for varied applications and bolstering millet mission.

N Kalaiselvi, CSIR's first woman director general, stated, "All 38 CSIR laboratories will contribute in utilising waste through research and innovation to provide maximum benefit to society."

While the waste-to-wealth mission is aimed at using the scientific processing of waste to ultimately forge a zero landfill and zero-waste nation, the AI and ML-based missions will utilise technology to utmost advantage with the objective of making strides in research and scientific inventions. At the same time, the millet mission aims at developing new varieties of millet, promoting their nutritional aspect and health benefits and their adaptability to various climates.

Beckoning changes in the energy conservation scenario of the country and pushing health-oriented fibrous food to its citizens, CSIR has worthy missions in the pipeline.
