Knocksense Shorts | Lucknow amongst 73 stations to successfully run 'One Station One Product'

The aim is to popularise local indigenous products at the railway stations and give passengers a chance to experience the rich heritage of India.

On March 25, the ambitious 'One Station One Product' initiative of the Railway Ministry took off in Uttar Pradesh. Progressively, Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow has maintained its position amongst 73 stations in UP that are successfully running the initiative. Each of the selected stations had outlets allotted to local craftsmen with the objective to promote the 'Vocal for Local' vision and provide a market for indigenous products.

OSOP is specific to that place and the product categories and, under this scheme, includes handicrafts/artefacts, textiles and handlooms, traditional garments, local agricultural produce and more. So the next time you visit a railway station in Uttar Pradesh, do search for it’s local indigenous product and give them a shout out.
