A token of diplomatic relations between India and Russia, the IAF Raj Hans Tu-124 has been a part of the Lucknow Zoo and State Museum since 1984. Reportedly this aircraft will soon be open for tourists and visitors for in-cabin photography. As per the reports, the iconic aircraft is expected to go under a restoration and renovation drive. Post-renovation, the visitors will be allowed to photograph the insides of the aircraft.

Notably, the ₹2.50 crore preservation proposal has been approved by the Culture Department and the work is expected to start soon, under the authority of HAL engineers. Once the restoration is complete, the aircraft is set to attract more visitors to Lucknow, giving a major boost to city and state tourism.
