The UP government has recently introduced new guidelines aimed at strengthening safety protocols in all the schools of the state, particularly focused on ensuring the well-being of children.
These guidelines entrust the responsibility of safeguarding children to various key individuals within the institutions, including principals, teachers, staff members, wardens and members of the school management committee. The objective behind these guidelines is to establish a secure and conducive environment for students in both government and private schools across all UP districts including Lucknow and Kanpur.
The guidelines specify a range of measures to ensure the protection of children. These measures encompass the installation of GPS systems in school buses, compulsory verification of school bus drivers and helpers, displaying contact information for child helplines, women helplines, and police stations inside buses, as well as the assignment of two teachers in each school bus.
The state project director, Sarvashiksha Abhiyaan, Vijay Kiran Anand has issued a formal letter to all district basic education officers, emphasizing on the importance of adhering to the aforementioned guidelines across all the UP schools.
