An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck Nepal at around 2:28 pm IST, today with an epicentre 6 km away from Kolti village.

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal at around 2:28 pm IST, today. As per a report from the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the tremors originated at about 148 km east of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, while the epicentre can vaguely be identified near the Kolti village of Banjura district in Nepal.

Reportedly, mild tremors were also felt in the Delhi-NCR region, various UP cities including Lucknow and parts of Uttarakhand. Furthermore, this is the second instance of noticeable natural activity which has affected Nepal in a period of three months. Previously, an earthquake of 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale was also recorded in Nepal on November 9 last year.
