Adding to the rapidly expanding scope of mechanized surgical procedures in Lucknow, SGPGIMS has achieved another remarkable feat by performing a successful robotic thyroid tumour removal surgery.

Reportedly, the surgery was performed at the Department of Endocrine Surgery at the hospital during which robotic thyroid surgeon Dr. Gyan Chand effectively excised a tumour measuring 10 cm from the patient's neck after a 4-hour long procedure. This surgery is notable for being the first of its kind robotic procedure to be done without making incisions in the patient's throat.
