The Indian Chess team is gearing up for the upcoming International Commonwealth Chess Championship, scheduled to take place from February 20 to 27. Dinesh K Sharma, an International Master from Uttar Pradesh, has been appointed as the team's leader.

Notably, 47-year-old IM Dinesh K Sharma, the first and only International Master from Uttar Pradesh, brings a wealth of experience to his role as head of the Indian Contingent for the Commonwealth Championship. With notable victories like the National Blitz 2018 Championship under his belt, Sharma is well-equipped to lead the team of 55 members.

Assisting him in preparations is Odisha's own International Master, Satyapragyan, who will serve as the team's coach for this prestigious event.
