In a major boost for the housing sector, the LDA and UP Awas Vikas Parishad (UPAVP) are preparing to release over 13,000 residential plots in Lucknow. The LDA will offer approximately 9,000 plots in prime areas such as Mohan Road, Sultanpur Road, IT City, and Wellness City. Meanwhile, UPAVP will introduce around 4,000 plots in a new residential scheme on New Jail Road in Gosainganj. This move aims to address the growing demand for self-owned homes in the city.

Reduced demand for flats in Lucknow

This decision follows a lacklustre response to the recent residential and commercial flats, leading to unsold units due to diminished interest in multi-storey homes.

Looking ahead, the LDA will focus solely on plot sales, allowing buyers to secure map approvals and build according to their preferences. Plots designated for group housing will also be auctioned. LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar emphasized that the heightened demand for plots has driven this strategic shift.

Both the LDA and UPAVP are gearing up for the plot launches, with sales expected to kick off around this year’s Diwali festivities.
