Pankaj Bhushan, an environmental engineer working with LMC was quoted saying, "We are trying to start the project before Holi. At first, we will produce interlocking bricks and later we will try to produce tiles and marbles. Recycling will help protect the environment."
As per reports, the authorities are trying to begin operations under this project before Holi. In this regard, reports state that the production complex near SGPGI has already been developed and the specific machines from an Ahemadabad-based company will reach soon. Reportedly, these advanced apparatus shall have the manufacturing capacity of developing 800-1,000 tiles from 100 metric tonnes of debris at the construction plants.
According to the current plans, the debris shall be obtained from both private and government construction projects. Reportedly, the debris shall be procured from private firms by paying a price while it will be available for free from the government-managed sites. After the material is procured, it shall be converted into tiles and marbles with the help of specialised machines.

Post-production, the tiles will be put to sale in general markets besides being used by the municipal corporation. All kinds of firms, including government and private entities are allowed to buy these inventive products. Being developed in an initiative to reduce the waste in the city, these tiles would come with an array of benefits.
According to sources, this project is being implemented based on a public-private partnership. While the plant is being developed by a government agency, it shall be handed over to a private firm for conducting operations. Subsequently, the profits generated shall be shared between the two establishments. It is expected that this project will revamp the building-waste management in Lucknow.
