As a part of the ongoing anti-encroachment drive against illegal constructions in UP, Lucknow Municipal Corporation is set to raze ramps outside houses in the city. This 60-day urban development drive will go on till June 15 and under this, any illegal setup encroaching the roads will be demolished.
Apart from encroaching public property, the construction of ramps in front of houses generally hinders the normal flow of drains. This leads to water logging in low-lying regions, especially during monsoons.
Moreover, the Municipal Commissioner has also ordered officials to ensure all the pumping machines in the city are in a working condition. In addition to this, the authority has also been directed to complete an extensive drainage cleaning, before the onset of the rainy season. This sanitation drive will cover all the big and small drains across the city limits.
If you are getting your house constructed in the city or you are planning to renovate your house, there's a list of rules and permissions one needs from various city and state authorities, to get the ball rolling. Similar to not constructing a ramp outside your house, there are some more regulations that one needs to keep in mind.
Other than the Municipal Corporation, the height of drainage cannot be altered by the owner of the house. However, after seeking permission from the concerned authority, one can get this down by a private contractor.
Having a lush green space outside your house is everyone's dream. But this is again not so simple. The empty space outside your house is not meant for construction, since it wasn't allocated to you while registry. Such spaces shouldn't be occupied by the house owner without prior permission from the LMC.
The height of a building shouldn't exceed the predetermined limit.
Usage of bore-well without prior permission from LMC is penalising.
