Reportedly, Lucknow has a total of 592 active patients of the deadly contagion now. On Monday, 53 new cases and 273 recoveries were logged in the state capital while 2 fatalities were recorded. As of now, a cumulative count of 2,37,858 citizens has been affected by the virus in Lucknow while nearly 2500 people have lost their lives. Notably, the maximum number of new detections were witnessed in the months of April and May 2021 when the country battled against the second wave of the pandemic.
In view of the dire circumstances, the authorities have called for the lockdown and it stretched over more than a month through repetitive weekly extensions. Now, the usual business will be revived in Lucknow tomorrow but the city still stands clamped under the provisions of section 144 till July 6.
Additionally, night curfew from 7 PM to 7 AM shall still be applicable till the situation is brought under control completely. While multiple relaxations are being executed, the citizens must practice the necessary caution, making sure that no lags lead to a revived acceleration in cases.
With case tallies dropping below 600 across all districts of the territory, the government has repealed the lockdown throughout the state. Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal affirmed, "There are now less than 600 active cases in all the districts and hence the day curfew is being lifted. Only 797 new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours."
