For the ease of passengers, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow Airport) has assembled a new ’virtual reunion room' (VRR) for passengers whose baggage are with held with airport security in In-Line Baggage Screening (ILBS) area due to suspicious prohibited items.
The room was inaugurated by Mr. Arun Bansal (CEO, AAHL), Mr. Rahul Bhatkoti (CAO, LKO Airport) and Mr. Ajay Singh (CASO, CISF).
The new audio-video communication enabled VRR has been set up near gate number 1 in the security hold area of the domestic Terminal-2. The audio-video process will be undertaken after the consent of the passenger where his/her luggage will be opened in a secure procedure and the prohibited items such as power bank, lighter, loose battery, e-cigarettes, dry coconut (Copra) be removed. In case the baggage is locked, the airline official will collect the keys from the passenger, go to ILBS to execute the process, and later return the keys to the passenger. The audio and video of this process will also be recorded.
Passengers will no longer have to visit Level-4 area for check-in luggage verification and to get the prohibited items removed. This will help in faster movement and baggage clearance of flyers and will especially be more convenient for senior citizens, specially-abled passengers and others.
