Witnessing a slight rise in fresh COVID cases, the single-day virus caseload in Lucknow inched closer to the 1000-mark on Tuesday. As per the daily health bulletin released by the administration on Wednesday, a total of 878 new cases were reported in Lucknow, as of February 2. According to the daily health bulletin, 1,912 patients infected with COVID in Lucknow marked their recovery on Tuesday, taking the cumulative tally of recoveries to 2,79,792 cases. With no new fatality reported on February 2, the death toll in the city remained fixed at 2,668. Consequently, the active caseload of coronavirus infection in the city slumped down to 7,778 cases, as of February 2.
Meanwhile, a total of 5,052 fresh cases of coronavirus were reported in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. On the same day, 10,398 recoveries were also marked. With the positivity rate declining to 2.46%, the active caseload of the state has also gone down to. As of Tuesday, UP is nursing a total of 41,755 active COVID infections. However, the virus threat has not subsided here. The death toll surged as high as 22 deaths, on Tuesday.

As per CoWIN stats, around 73,38,453 jabs of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh so far. This data includes first, second and third (precautionary) doses that have been given to beneficiaries across all the age groups, starting 15 years and above.
While 31,19,310 beneficiaries are fully-vaccinated in Lucknow, 10,18,387 persons are due to get the second dose. Apart from this, 81,446 people in Lucknow have also received the third dose of vaccination which is known as the 'precautionary dose' in India.
