While the administration has extended the closure of schools and colleges for another week, all the teaching-learning activities in the state can continue in online mode. Even though educational institutes will not hold physical classes, the vaccination drive for students aged 15 to 18 will be carried out on the campus. Apart from this, the distribution of food and ration will also continue as before at Anganwadi schools across the state. Considering the rising pile of COVID every day, this move ensures the safety of the vulnerable group of children.

In a bid to improve the vaccination coverage of the country, a nationwide inoculation drive of adolescents aged 15 to 17 was initiated on January 3. Notably, more than 1,79,621 beneficiaries belonging to this age group have received at least a single dose of vaccine in Lucknow, as of January 22. According to the data available on coWIN, a total of 76,66,614 vaccine doses have been administered across the state, as of Saturday.
