Lucknow gets a new Rahat Vani Kendra to strengthen UP's disaster-management system

Through the centre, early warnings surrounding imminent dangers and disaster will be sent to people in real time.

A preventative facility, Rahat Vani Kendra, has been flagged off in Lucknow to aid in numerous natural and man-made disasters.

Boosting the disaster-management system of the state, this centre will be responsible for delivering timely information to people on any occurring natural disaster. Moreover, steps have been taken to improve the existing meteorological information network of Uttar Pradesh and bolster emergency operation centres at district level. The State is slated to provide the met department with additional equipment for improvement in operations. Herein, lightning sensors and river sensors are being installed to send warnings ahead of lightning strikes or floods.
