As per reports, a senior official informed that the count of vehicles on the roads connecting Lucknow and Kanpur has increased drastically. In view of this, the authorities came up with the proposal of an elevated road. According to the current plans, the facility will have 6 lanes from Shaheed path to Bani and it will be built on single pillars erected on the central divider. Thereafter, the road will allow for controlled entry and the last section will extend from Unnao to Kanpur. Further, it is noteworthy that the Lucknow-Kanpur expressway will strengthen the functioning of the Defence Corridor.

Additionally, reports state the central government ministers had planned for setting up 9 flyovers and structured plans are being rolled out for each one of them now. Given the long list of interventions, the state and central officials are trying to attract industry and investments in Uttar Pradesh, through enhanced road connectivity.
