Under the umbrella of curfew relaxations in Lucknow from Wednesday, city dwellers will also be granted the convenience of rapid metro travel from tomorrow onwards. Initially, all services along the CCS-Munshipulia route will be available from 7 AM, for 12 hours. The last train will be flagged off at 7 PM from both terminals, read reports. The commercial runs of the metro were suspended until now in the wake of the raging threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Passengers need to follow COVID-19 appropriate protocols

In view of the ebbing second wave of coronavirus, the state has permitted to resume the operations of the Lucknow Metro with precautions for the benefit of the people. The metro corporation will bank on the security of an established hygiene system to ensure prime safety for its riders. Officials at the UPMRC have announced 'Hai Taiyaar Hum' buoyed by its several sanitisation efforts to prepare the station and rakes, ahead of the restart.

The agency has announced that it is using special UV lamps to sanitise the rakes and even token tickets to reduce the threat of direct transmission. Besides this, other sanitation measures at metro stations and other high-contact surfaces will also be conducted frequently to obtain a safe and hygienic commute experience for all. As per reports, passengers too will have to adhere to all COVID-19 appropriate protocols during their travel.
