Following the readjustment of the existing zonal wards, 7 new wards have been introduced under the jurisdiction of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC).
Along with the addition of new wards, 3 old wards have been removed from the fray. At the same time, 4 wards have been merged during the readjustment procedure, taking the total number of LMC wards to 110.
The new LMC wards comprise of 88 villages that added under LMC's jurisdiction a few years ago i.e.
Jankipuram III: Jankipuram Extn., LDA colony, Sultanpur village, West Kursi Road, Khargapur Jagir, North Tiwaripur
Shaheed Bhagat Singh ward: Dasauli, Mishrapur, Gudamba, Rasulpur Sadat
Bharwara Malhaur: Nizampur Malhaur, Lonapur, Bhaisaura, Bharwara, Ganeshpur
Khargapur Sarsawa: Arjunganj, Khargapur, Mastemau, Badhamau, Sarsawa
Atal Bihari Vajpayee: Muzaffarnagar, Devamau, Yusufnagar, Ahimamau, Nizampur
Kalyan Singh: South Salempur Patora, Kaliakheda, Bhamrauli, Sarosa Bharosa
Lalji Tandon: Hayatnagar, Peernagar, Lalnagar, Barawan Kala, Peernagar, Saitha
The readjustment (merging/removal) of the wards was done to keep the number of wards limited to 110 as per the rules. This also allowed the addition of the new wards to LMC's jurisdiction.
The existing wards that have been merged include the Mahatma Gandhi-Vikramaditya ward, Babu Kunj BiharilaI-Omnagar ward, Nazarbagh-Yadunath Sanyal ward and Kalbe Abid I-Kalbe Abid II ward.
Furthermore, Begum Hazrat Mahal-Bajranj Bali, Hardin Rai Nagar and Ashrafabad wards have been dissolved as part of LMC's delimitation procedure.
