From LDA's new rule for charging additional development fees for building houses along the Shaheed Path, to usage of sensors for automated traffic light functioning, read on to know more about the latest trending Lucknow news highlights.

Traffic signals in the city will automatically adjust to green or red based on traffic loads from all directions. Signals will prioritize the direction with higher vehicle pressure by extending the green signal duration. To achieve this, sensors will be installed at 10 key intersections in Lucknow, allowing for sensor-driven traffic control.

The Laulai Road, extending for 3.40 km from Malhaur Railway Station to Kisan Path, serves as a crucial link for vehicles travelling from Sultanpur road towards Chinhat and Gomtinagar extension. Currently, this road consists of just a single lane, leading to congestion issues. However, officials are in the process of preparing a proposal to address this problem. Once finalized, the proposal will be submitted to the government for approval. The planned project aims to widen the road substantially, extending it to a length of 7.13 km from Chinhat to Juggaur via Satrikh.

Constructing a house within a 5-kilometer radius of Lucknow's Shaheed Path will now cost you more. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has implemented a development fee of Rs 550 per square meter for properties built within a 2.5-kilometer radius on both sides of the approximately 15-year-old Shaheed Path. This fee is required to be deposited when seeking approval for the construction map.

Cameras installed at every intersection in Lucknow are now capturing vehicles emitting excessive smoke. The traffic department obtains vehicle details from the M-transport system, and if a vehicle lacks a Pollution Control Certificate (PUC), an e-challan is issued. This new system, which doesn't require stopping vehicles, began on August 1, 2023, and by August 15, it had already led to 490 challans for non-compliance with PUC regulations.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is actively engaged in constructing UP Darshan Park, situated behind Hotel Vivanta Taj in Gomti Nagar. This park will showcase models of renowned landmarks crafted from scrap metal. Some models, including Lucknow's Vidhan Bhawan and Agra's Taj Mahal, have already been completed. The park is anticipated to be open to the public in October of this year.
