Lucknow's Gomti Nagar Railway Station upgrade project has reached completion, showcasing state-of-the-art infrastructure, airport-like terminals, and modern passenger amenities. The redesigned railway station will be inaugurated on February 26.
Spanning 10 acres, the new station offers amenities like a food court, retiring rooms, waiting lounges, escalators, and lifts. A 28-meter wide concourse seamlessly connects the two terminals and six platforms, including two newly constructed platforms as part of the upgrade.
The enhanced Gomti Nagar railway station aims to relieve passenger congestion at Charbagh railway station, as Northern Railways redirects trains to Gomti Nagar. For instance the 15090/15089 Gomti Nagar-Gonda-Gomti Nagar Express has been announced and scheduled to operate from Gomti Nagar every Friday starting March 1.
