Lucknow News | UP govt. gears up to start a state-of-the-art forensic facility in the city

In a bid to enhance forensic capabilities in Lucknow, the state government is developing a cutting-edge facility to be located on land provided by the UP State Forensic Institute. This advanced lab will be easily accessible via Ranipur Road, connecting to the Lucknow-Kanpur highway.

The project is being managed by the Planning Department’s Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) cell, which is already working on the detailed project report, architectural design, and critical assessments. Construction is already underway, with a projected completion timeline of 18 months.

According to the EPC cell's press release, top institutions such as IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT BHU, and NIT Prayagraj will provide their expertise to maintain the highest standards in forensic research. Furthermore, the forensic facility will be equipped with HVAC systems, IP-based EPABX, CCTV, and audio-visual systems, all designed to support enhanced criminal investigations and related processes.
