With 39 fresh dengue cases reported on Friday, the dengue tally of Lucknow has reached 1048 since January. Previously, the high court issued a directive to the health department for the mitigation of dengue cases.

Referring to the same, UP Deputy Chief Minister has also passed instructions to the department for the creation of separate wards for H1N1 (swine flu) and dengue patients.

Out of the 39 cases that were reported this Friday, most cases have been reported in the Aliganj (5) area. Other areas including Indira Nagar (4), Turiyaganj (4), Siver Jubilee (4), Chander Nagar (4), Chinhat (3), Aishbagh (3), Sarojini Nagar (3), Kakori (3), Red Cross (2), Bakshi Ka Talab (2), Mohanlalganj (1) and Malihabad (1) are also under a constant influence of the dengue outbreak.

Reportedly, a total of 10 people have succumbed to the illness in Lucknow so far.

In the wake of the Allahabad High Courts' directive, the state authorities have started working on the necessary control and prevention measures to curb the dengue spread in Lucknow. Apart from the creation of separate Dengue and H1N1 wards, the Deputy CM has also instructed the health department officials to give H1N1 flu vaccines to all doctors and medical staff.

On the other hand, Lucknow District Magistrate, Surya Pal Ganwar has instructed the LMC to conduct chemical fogging in different areas of the city, twice a day. Furthermore, he has instructed SPM Civil Hospital officials to reserve extra beds for dengue patients.
