The North Western Railway has added an extra second-class sleeper coach in the Jaipur-Lucknow Special train, in view of the increased passenger load due to the ongoing festive season. Connecting two prominent state capitals in the nation, the train ferries a large count of commuters on a regular basis. As per reports, the sleeper coach will be a temporary addition to train no. 09715 and 09716 from September 7 and 8 respectively, till the escalated demands continue.

The Pink City of India is an exotic tourist destination and many travellers look forward to enjoying the sunset at the forts and the state's delectable cuisine. The current period of festivities has piqued the travellers' interest and a large number of tourists are planning a visit to Jaipur. Driven by such reasons, the commuter tallies have surged, which prompted the rail authorities to take the current decision.
According to Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the North Western Railway, both trains leaving and arriving at the Gomti Nagar Railway station in Lucknow & the Jaipur Railway Station will have an extra sleeper coach. Operational thrice a week, these trains cover a distance of nearly 570kms. As per logs, the Gomti Nagar-Jaipur train operates on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday while the Jaipur-Gomti Nagar train runs on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday.

Reportedly, the North Western Railway has already added extra coaches to several more trains like Secunderabad-Hisar Special and Hyderabad-Jaipur Special, to accommodate the needs of travellers.
During the second wave of the pandemic, Indian Railways had restricted the movement of trains. Now, the train services are also being reinstituted in a phased manner with the gradual revival of stability.
