Lucknow University is taking significant steps to address the issue of ragging and harassment faced by students on campus. To facilitate a safer environment, the university authorities have decided to install complaint boxes at various locations across the campus. This will enable students to report incidents of ragging or harassment without revealing their identity.

The collected complaints will be regularly reviewed by the proctorial board, which will then take appropriate actions against the wrongdoers mentioned in the complaints.

Anti-ragging measures are in compliance with the guidelines of Grants Commission

The admission process for the coming session in the University of Lucknow has already started and the classes are scheduled to begin from the next month onwards.

Reportedly, Lucknow University was accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC last year. These guidelines align with the directives from the University Grants Commission and the Uttar Pradesh government, aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education for students.

Similar measures also necessary for affiliated colleges under Lucknow University

"The installation of these complaint boxes will enable students to submit grievances anonymously, fostering a safer campus environment by facilitating strict action against miscreants." expressed Akash Kushwaha, a student at Lucknow University.

"These complaint boxes will also instill a sense of security among new students and parents visiting the campus for admission purposes." he added.

The complaint box will be opened daily by department heads or their authorized representatives. Complaint letters will be forwarded to the proctor's office with recommendations for appropriate action. Furthermore, the proctorial board members will regularly visit the campus and hostels to ensure effective resolution.

Another student of the University, Vikas Jaiswal stated, "Similar measures must be implemented in all affiliated colleges of LU, with a designated University authority responsible for monitoring and addressing ragging/harassment cases that may arise in these institutions."
