In an attempt to boost the research infrastructure at the institute, the Ministry of Defence will soon furnish a fund of around ₹2 crores to Lucknow University, reportedly. With the help of this amount, a professor chair will be set up for driving progress in the field of research and development. Under this professorship, the selected individual will investigate and work upon the challenges related to national security.

Lucknow University houses a string of research facilities including Bhaurao Devras research bench and Atal Bihari Vajpayee research bench. As per reports, seminar and other functions are regularly conducted under them. Now, the varsity will gets its first professor chair in a long standing history of 101 years. Being set up with the financial aid from the Ministry of Defence, this new addition to the institute will help in fueling research related to issues to national security.
Reportedly, the new chair will be established in the Department of Defence Studies at the institute. Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, Alok Kumar Rai informed that country is faced with numerous challenges like the fear of cyber attacks. Through the works under the new chair, an annual report will be prepared. This would address the problems related to national security and the viable solutions to deal with them.

As per reports, Lucknow University will organise an extensive research project for studying the operations at the 1,500 anganwadis in the city. The newly established Women Development Centre will implement this survey, aimed at gauging the state of the facilities at anganwadis. Further, the current works at these sites will be assessed in view of formulated objectives.
Notably, Lucknow University has revived the functioning of the entire campus after a long period of 18 months. While offline classes for students of UG and PG courses are being restored, the sports and other curricular activities are also being brought back on track.
