Lucknow University touched a major milestone on its journey to becoming an apex institute in India with its first-ever mention in the list of QS World University Rankings 2022. Reportedly, LU is the only university in Uttar Pradesh to have achieved a place in the elite list of Asian Universities, this year. The University's name is among the 12 Indian institutes that have been ranked for the first time in this index of the top 631 institutes across the continent.

Quacquarelli Symonds is the world's leading agency in the global higher education sector and ranks the world's most popular universities and educational institutions. The rankings evaluate institutions of higher education based on comparative data on university performance, creating a relative index of best institutes to study at. This year, Lucknow University has found a position its name in the QS rankings, bringing pride to the varsity, its students and the city.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said that this is a proud achievement for the University as it includes 131 Indian Universities (Including IITs and Public/Private/Central Universities). He also expressed his firm commitment to enhance the quality of education in the University and take it to a higher level in the times to come.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the University's inclusion in the QS Quacquarelli Symonds ranking has only added to its achievements. He lauded the efforts of all stakeholders, including students, faculty and staff for contributing their share and pushing the University to be named among the top-ranking global higher education institutions, across the world. This iconic honour will boost the global visibility of the University, reaping profits for the student body, in a great measure.
