Last year, LU had implemented a centralised system of admissions wherein enrollments in all affiliated colleges of the varsity were covered under a single application form. Given the ease and success of this measure, the university has declared that the current admission process will be conducted on similar lines.
While the list of colleges taking part in the unified structure wasn't ready till Tuesday evening, it is important to note that some leading educational institutes did not participate in the consolidated procedure last year. If the reports are to be believed, they will deploy their own plans for managing admissions this year too. Additionally, the decision of the colleges that participated in centralised admissions last year is still awaited. Given the fact that LU has extended its cover to four districts around Lucknow, it would have to take care of a large number of applications this year. As per reports, colleges from Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Lakhimpur have been brought under Lucknow University's jurisdiction.
