In the latest development at Lucknow University (LU), students will now be able to bag jobs without sitting for the written examination. Direct interviews will, from now on, determine the placement of students. Kicking off this change effectively, two companies in the run are expected to proffer jobs to students this week. The companies have tied up with the Central Placement Cell of LU and will be coming to the campus to conduct the interviews.

The university, that recently completed 102 glorious years and celebrated its Foundation Day in all grandeur, has floated the announcement of the same. The university also flaunts the highest NAAC A++ rating.

2 companies arriving this week at LU

The system of written examinations is, thus, coming to a steady end as direct interviews are the future of getting jobs for the students.

One of the two companies, Lisa Woodco Industry Pvt Ltd, will be offering ₹10,000-₹50,000 monthly to select Fine Arts' students. They are reportedly looking to hire students for 30-40 posts.

The other company, Apco Infratech Company, will be placing some 150 students of MA Social Work and Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM), confirmed the director of the placement cell. The particular company has announced a 3 LPA package for the selected students.

The companies arriving this week for the interviews will offer jobs based in the city.

"Students are all for it. The step seems to be a great opportunity, especially for those who do not fare as well at written assignments but have impressive skills to crack interviews," expressed Vikas Jaiswal, a student at Lucknow University.

"It will be more beneficial if the range of placements is further broadened with similar opportunities for non-science students, specifically art graduates," he added.

Influx of placements

An influx of companies at the campus is expected in the future to hire engineering students, too. A placement drive will soon be organsied at LU for big names like Renault Nissan, Wipro, Pyramid Consulting, Francis Partners, Cashpor Micro Credit, and more.

Recently, Lucknow University also shared its achievement of handing out more than 250 placements to its students in the top-of-the-cream companies.
