The much-anticipated Outer Ring Road in Lucknow is all set to be inaugurated in March. Also known as National Highway 230, the 104-km road is expected to bring a major relief to the commuters by decongesting other roads and highways. Not just that, it aims at providing seamless inter-connectivity with Lucknow's expressways and national and state highways.
The road, with its eight-lane expressway, is being constructed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The project, initiated in 2016, is finally nearing completion.
Deemed to be a game-changer in Lucknow's connectivity and road infrastructure sector, the project has numerous key features including well-developed interchanges, lush green spaces, pedestrian-friendly pathways and advanced traffic management systems. Also known as Kisan Path, this stretch also engulfs some 150 exit points, with its eight lanes expanding to 10 at important junctions. The highway also exhibits an aesthetic cloverleaf interchange at Ayodhya Road.
Moreover, the Kisan Path has a lot in store when it comes to Lucknow's economic growth potential. It consists of a widespread arena, approx 1,500 acres of sprawling land across Lucknow and Barabanki districts, that can accommodate commercial, hospitality, health care, institutional and residential activities.
The pivotal project is all set to be inaugurated by March second week by the prime minister. For the same, workers have been pulling off 12-hour shifts on the road patches that need still attention in order to complete on time.
