In the hustle and bustle of Lucknow's streets, e-rickshaws have become the go-to choice for last-mile connectivity and short-distance travel. Mostly a boon for commuters, these eco-friendly and cost-effective rides also have a big contribution to traffic snarls. To address this, authorities in Lucknow have come up with a unique solution—colour-coding e-rickshaws based on zones.

Each battery-operated rickshaw will now flaunt specific colors corresponding to the zones they operate in, making them easily distinguishable. As part of this initiative, e-rickshaw owners must specify up to three areas where their vehicles will ply. This not only streamlines the system but also enables the police to keep tabs on the increasing numbers of these nimble rides.

In addition, owners are required to fill out a form detailing their chosen zones, ensuring better regulation. This database will help maintain a comprehensive record of e-rickshaws, their owners, and designated operating areas, paving the way for a more organized and controlled e-rickshaw network in Lucknow.
