New opportunities for artistes of Lucknow: Bhatkhande to organise a lively summer workshop

To be organised between May 16-June 15, the workshop will include sessions on vocals, dancing and instrumentals.

Lucknow's artistes, huddle! The city's eminent cultural varsity, Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, will soon be carrying out a well-rounded summer workshop. Replete with opportunities for learning and training, the workshop will be conducted between May 16 and June 15.

According to the press statement issued by the university, this workshop will incorporate sessions on vocals, dancing and instrumentals. These sessions will be conducted in two time slots (namely, 9 AM-10AM and 10AM-11AM). The fees for the general sessions has been marked at ₹2,000.

Special classes for Kathak, Pakhawaj

For the dancers in the city, special classes for Kathak will also be organised at the premises between May 16-31 between 10AM-12PM. The fees for these classes will be ₹5,000.

Moreover, Pakhawaj classes will be conducted between May 16-25 from 10AM-12PM for ₹2,000.

The Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, a token of pride for the city-ites and one of Lucknow's cultural identities for almost a century now, was set up in 1926 by Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande. Being declared a deemed university by UGC in 2000, Bhatkhande was upgraded to a state university in 2022.
