A mini India in Lucknow, painted in cultural colours, is awaiting us at the Bharat Hastshilp Mahotsav 2022 and we cannot wait to experience the exemplary craftsmanship displayed here. Being organised at Kanshiram Smriti Upvan located in Ashiyana, the cultural festival will go on till December 14.
The India handicrafts festival engulfs artistic tokens from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Union Territories. In short, here, you get to witness art and craft from every nook and corner of the country.
The theme of the 15-day gala is 'Step towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat' and that is exactly what the local artisans from so many states are aiming at. So, by being a buyer here, you contribute to the 'vocal for local' movement and also, in turn, support small businesses and sustainability (since almost everything here is hand-created).
The vibrant symbols under the states' distinctive indigenous products like furniture, spices, handloomed goods, textiles, handicrafts, will hold your attention like no other. Special events like Kavi Sammelan, Mushaira, magic, puppetry, will be hosted here in grandeur.
Regularly, the place will also be lit up with folk dances and folk singing performed by diverse artistes. Bringing the hueful traditions and culture to you, artistes will showcase their exquisite skills and perform Raas dance, Jhula dance, Woodpecker dance, Jhoomar, Garba, Khayal dances, Biraha, that are emblems of different places.
A Bharat Talent Hunt will also take place here, where people can participate in singing, dancing, modelling, painting, essay writing, sewing, henna and rangoli making and other competitions. Moreover, events like 'jugaad with junk', cycle racing, kho-kho and kabaddi, will add to the fun!
Coming to the food, you yet again have a glimpse of cuisines from a multitude of Indian states. Stalls of Kashmiri, Rajasthani, Punjabi, South Indian, Gujarati, Chinese, Awadhi-Mughlai, besides, of course desi food corners, are adorning the food zone of the extravagant festival.
Oh, and what is a stupendous fair without rides and fun? This is rollercoaster of emotions and diversity, but in a good way! Here, you can go for various swings and rides. Besides, horse and camel rides have been set up for visitors.
A full-fledged family affair for Lucknowites, collect your people and visit the Mohatsav that has everything in store to make your day as memorable as ever!
