In view of the dwindling infection tallies, Lucknow's premier healthcare centre Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) has announced the resumption of OPD services from June 7. Operational six days a week, the facilities will function in complete adherence with the guidelines and protocols floated by the government. Besides this, post-COVID clinic and post-COVID e-OPD will also commence at the multi-specialty institute from tomorrow.

As per the schedule given by the institute, OPD will be functional from 9.30 am to 4 pm five days a week, from Monday to Friday. While the service shall remain closed on Sunday, beneficiaries will be permitted till 12:30 on Saturday. In order to avail of services of the hospital, both the patient and the attendant will have to produce either a negative RT-PCR report or a TrueNat test. Additionally, masking and social distancing norms must be strictly followed by all individuals visiting the hospital.

The officials have mentioned that the post-COVID OPD will only allow patients who were treated at the centre for the infection. Under this initiative, healthcare workers and their families will also be able to get the needed help. Administered and supervised by senior doctors, the facility will provide consultation and other required aids for post COVID problems related to a range of systems, including Pulmonary, Cardiac, Endocrine and Neurology.
Further, teleconsultation service is also provided for patients dealing with post COVID problems. One can call at 0522-2496090 to seek the required help related to issues that succeed COVID infection. If the doctor feels the need to physically examine such a patient, he/she shall be provided with a specific time slot. It has been mandated that such an individual will also have to begin a negative RT-PCR or TrueNat test report, in order to get admission within the hospital.
