And just like that, Diwali is almost here and with it so many possibilities make way! There are so many things to do and places to be at to make the festival of lights as glorious as ever, and just one of those lit things is Deepotsav in Ayodhya. This year will mark the 6th edition of the record-setting event, and this time the authorities are planning on lighting 16 lakh diyas made of cow dung.
Moreover, Deepotsav 2022, will be a cultural banquet of artistes hailing from 10 countries including Russia, Fiji, Malaysia, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Sri Lanka, to culminate a gala to remember!
Beginning today, this three-day cultural event will be taking place at the Naya Ghat. On the first day, artistes from Lucknow and Ayodhya will entertain you with classical bhajans, while local folk artistes from Gonda will add to the enthralling performances on day 2. Foreign artistes, as well as performers from around the country, will also be enacting Ramlila at the Deepotsav here.
Rendering peaceful vibes, earthen lamps or diyas, to mark the symbolic lighting of the lamps, will be lit and let go at the Ram Ki Paidi ghat on Saryu River's banks.
There's a lot to look forward to here, including the Queen Heo Memorial Park which will be inaugurated in Ayodhya during the celebrations, with a delegation from South Korea witnessing the same.
