Nestled in lush Pilibhit, the tranquil Chuka beach has recently come into limelight for being one of the most sought-after tourist spots in Uttar Pradesh. In light of witnessing a 40% increase in the influx of visitors, the beach has become a highly desirable tourist hub. As per stats, the ecotourism spot saw a footfall of around 24,000 tourists ever since the pandemic ended, thus, translating into a revenue of ₹51.04 lakhs.
Situated on the banks of Sharda river in Pilibhit district, the serene getaway spot is located approx 264 kms (5.5 hours) from Lucknow. Also some 308 kms from Kanpur, the Chuka beach is known for boating, its photography prospects, bird watching, jungle safaris, and more.
Specific attractions here, besides the beach and Sal forests, is the cultural enigma of Tharu huts exploring the modalities of the tribe. There are as many as seven rest houses, four Tharu huts, one tree house available here for people to stay at and relax, hence, making for a potential vacation spot.
"Of the tourists who visited the place, more than 4,300 took the jungle safaris while the travellers booked Tharu huts online 839 times," a government spokesperson mentioned.
The beach is frequented by students, families — people of all age groups. "Senior officials, politicians, actors and judges of the Supreme/High Court paid a visit to the Pilibhit forest in the November to June season. In addition to this, as many as 42 students' groups explored the place," he said.
One of the only beaches that is not located at the banks of a sea, Pilibhit's Chuka Beach makes for an ideal getaway spot for a trip away from the clamours of the city.
