In a new set of guidelines issued by the state administration on Wednesday, the weekend lockdown in Uttar Pradesh has been relaxed. As per the new directives, curfew will only be applicable on Sundays and public movement will be allowed on Saturdays. All businesses in UP are now permitted to operate from 6 AM to 10 PM (Monday-Saturday), in line with the pandemic safety protocols.

Don't lose guard against the pandemic!

The Home Department of Uttar Pradesh has released an order which realigns COVID curbs and relaxations in Lucknow, Kanpur and other districts here. This decision has been finalised based on the CM's directive to the Home agency to structure new guidelines as per the present-day status of the COVID spread.

It may be noted that the threat of the pandemic has not subsided and relevant precautionary measures still need to be adhered to. The public must wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times in public spaces. Frequent sanitisation and caution to hygiene are the need of the hour. Besides, eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to get their vaccination as soon as possible to prevent the threat of an infection resurgence - in the form of a 'third wave'.
