Bringing together a vibrant mix of creativity and craftsmanship, an 8-day sculpture camp is currently underway at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) in Lucknow. In this unique artistic endeavour, 10 renowned sculptors from across the country have come together to transform raw materials into stunning works of art.

This camp not only celebrates the art of sculpture but also offers a rare opportunity for enthusiasts and students to witness the creative process firsthand. As each piece takes form, it reflects the deep-rooted heritage and innovative spirit that the participating artists bring to the table, making this event a must-visit for those passionate about the evolving world of modern sculpture.

Artworks to adorn Lucknow’s landscape

Out of these renowned sculptors, we have Lucknow's Mukesh Verma, Awadhesh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, and Girish Pandey. New Delhi's Rajesh Kumar, Shailesh Mohan Ojha, and Santo Kumar Chaubey. Patna's Pankaj Kumar, Surat's Avni Patel, and Nidhi Sabhaya from Ahmedabad are also participating.

Each sculptor is preparing the artwork based on a unique theme. Once the camp concludes, these one-of-a-kind artworks will be unveiled in an exclusive exhibition at the AKTU campus, offering the public a rare glimpse into the creative minds behind these masterpieces. But the journey doesn’t end there—following the showcase, these sculptures will be installed at prominent locations across Lucknow, transforming the city into an open-air gallery and adding a fresh layer of cultural vibrancy to its landscape.
