New rail overbridge to be developed near Jalalpur Gate of Rajajipuram area

The railway authorities have granted approval for the construction of a double-lane Railway Overbridge (ROB) near Jalalpur Gate, situated along the Rajajipuram Para Road in Lucknow. This overpass will benefit the residents as it will alleviate the frequent traffic congestion caused by the heavy train traffic on both the Lucknow-Moradabad and Alamnagar-Utrethiya routes passing through this intersection.

Once completed, this ROB is expected to significantly reduce the inconvenience caused by the frequent closure of the railway crossing, providing much-needed relief to the local community from traffic jams.

District administration & UP Tourism dept. gear up for Lucknow Mahotsav preparations

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department and the District Administration are actively preparing for Lucknow Mahotsav, which is tentatively scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 5 this year.

A meeting chaired by the Divisional Commissioner was conducted to discuss various aspects of the event, including budget review, theme selection, and event layout. Additionally, a formal request has been sent to the Memorial Committee to host the Mahotsav at Smriti Upvan, located in Ashiana Sector L.

Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna gets felicitated by AITA in Lucknow

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) honored the celebrated Indian tennis player, Rohan Bopanna, as he readies himself for his final Davis Cup appearance during the World Group II tie against Morocco. The event is scheduled to be held at the Vijayant Khand Mini Stadium over the weekend.

At 43 years old, Bopanna, currently ranked seventh in the world in doubles, made history last week by becoming the oldest player to compete in a Grand Slam doubles final at the US Open. The felicitation ceremony was attended by other Indian and Moroccan players who will be participating in the upcoming Davis Cup match alongside him.

UP govt. employees to receive free cancer treatment under healthcare scheme

The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a special healthcare scheme, allowing government staff and their dependents to access free cancer treatment at the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute and Hospital (KSSSCIH) in Lucknow.

Prof R.K. Dhiman, the director of the institute, has announced plans to expand the hospital's admission capacity from 250 beds to 750 beds as part of ongoing efforts to provide enhanced healthcare services.

Following the new National Education Policy, UP students to have fewer hours of study

In alignment with the new education policy, the Uttar Pradesh Government is poised to introduce modifications to school schedules, aiming to reduce the overall classroom hours. Under the revised schedule, schools will now provide 29 hours of instruction per week.

On weekdays (Monday to Friday), classes will span 5 to 5.30 hours, and on the second Saturday of each month, they will extend from 2 to 2.30 hours. Additionally, two Saturdays will be designated as holidays. Furthermore, the maximum duration for general subject classes will be shortened from 45 to 35 minutes, while major subjects will be taught for 50 minutes.
