Severe waterlogging, roads cave in after overnight downpour in Lucknow

In an unusual incident, a major road located near the 1090 intersection collapsed overnight due to heavy rains.

The state capital experienced a torrential rainfall, accumulating 93.9 mm of rainfall within the last 12 hours, from Sunday evening to Monday morning. This has marked the most substantial monsoon downpour in Lucknow for the year.

The relentless rain resulted in significant waterlogging across the city, leading to traffic congestion, causing inconvenience to residents. Additionally, several underpasses, including those on Shaheed Path, are inundated with ankle-deep water.

In an unusual incident, a major and vital road located near the 1090 intersection collapsed overnight due to heavy rains. This occurrence resulted in a significant pothole on the road, leading to traffic congestion on this typically busy route.

Officials from the district civic authorities inspected the site this morning and the repair of the pothole has already begun.
