Featuring a vibrant vending zone and a gali displaying various hueful stalls, a blueprint of a Chatori Gali Food Street is being proposed to be built near the Charbagh railway station. The hub is expected to come up near the Gandhi Udyan of the railway station where roadside vendors can not only find shelter but also carry their businesses in an organised manner.
Awadhi munchies and street food will be sold here to travellers and passersby alike. This will be the second street food hub by the same name, after the renowned Chatori Gali dwelling at the 1090 Chauraha of Lucknow that sees throngs of street food enthusiasts visiting the place daily.
The proposal of the food street has been sent to Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) SK Sapra for approval by the Northern Railway.
Besides the delectable Awadhi dishes, Chinese, Continental, Thai and local food will also feature at the stalls here. Fast food and munchies will be available at the vending zone of this Chatori Gali.
As per the plan by Railways, vintage train coaches that are not in use will also be metamorphosed into restaurants. The bogies will, basically, be converted into restaurants and catering services will be provided here, suiting every kind of passenger.
Tickling the taste buds of Lucknowites with delicacies, this gali will be a haven to the 1.25 lakh commuters visiting Charbagh daily. This move is also expected to clear out the traffic jams due to scattered vendors near the station.
