UP News | Easing travel between Lucknow and Kanpur, MEMU trains to return from March 13

Will run every week from Monday to Friday.

Good news for those frequently traversing between Lucknow and Kanpur! The MEMU trains, that had been moved off track ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, will once again return to ease travel between the two cities, from March 13. But this time around, these trains will run with a new number as express trains. Also, the new train will also have 12 coaches instead of 6.

The new and updated MEMU trains: Fare, timings and more

The minimum fare for travelling in MEMU trains, which used to be ₹10, will now be ₹30. The fare for travelling from Lucknow to Kanpur or vice versa will be ₹45. It must be noted that the new and updated MEMU trains will operate five days a week, that excludes Saturday and Sunday.

As for the timings, the unreserved MEMU train will start from Kanpur Central at 12:10 PM, reaching Lucknow's Charbagh station at 02:15 PM. On its return journey, it will leave for Kanpur from the Charbagh station at 02:30 PM, reaching Kanpur central by 04:25 PM. On its journey, the new MEMU train will stop at Unnao, Sonik, Ajgain, Kusumbhi, Jaitipur, Harauni, Piparsand, Amausi and Manak Nagar.
