In an attempt to inculcate knowledge among the youth, students from schools across Uttar Pradesh will now get a chance to visit various villages, and explore the developments of Jal Jeevan Mission under Jal Gyan Yatra programme.

As per the official release, 10 boys and girls from each school will be a part of this ambitious scheme. Besides, 2 nodal teachers will be selected from each school for the JGY programme.

Informative trips to STPs & Water Treatment Plants of UP

Planned and organised by Namami Gange, Department of Rural Water Supply and Basic Education Department, the unique programme will help students learn how the Jal Jeevan Mission works. Further, they’ll witness the entire process of how clean water is transported to remote areas of the state. Students will also be taken to STPs and water treatment plants, which will further their knowledge in this field.

Commencing this month, the first phase will entail a trip to Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mahoba and Jhansi, where students will get a chance to participate in quizzes and interactive informative sessions. A list of qualified schools under this programme is yet to be received by the department.
