The city of Lucknow has an abundance of recreational options ranging from malls, sprawling green parks, picturesque riverfronts and more. Now, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is planning to develop a boat club along the banks of River Gomti, aiming to provide Lucknowites with a new destination for outdoor activities.
In order to facilitate the establishment of the boat club, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is actively searching for suitable land along the riverbank, encompassing a minimum waterfront area of 500 meters.
This designated space will be utilized for the promotion of water sports and various other recreational activities. Furthermore, it is planned that the chosen river stretch will be seamlessly integrated into the existing road network, ensuring convenient accessibility for visitors and enhancing connectivity to the proposed boat club.
The LDA Vice Chairman, Indramani Tripathi, has deployed a dedicated team to explore potential river stretches. Considering the significant urban development that has taken place within the city limits, it is anticipated that the necessary stretch of land suitable for the construction of the boat club may only be available on the outskirts of Lucknow.
After the finalization of the suitable land parcels and establishing a preliminary outline, LDA will undertake the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for estimating costs.
